Some high-density and multi-family housing, with six to 18 dwelling units per acre, is planned in the Town Center area. The result will be a balanced community which offers a mix of housing but retains a rural, small-town character. Queen Creek EducationQueen Creek Unified School District #95 serves the largest portion of Queen Creek and includes education for students in kindergarten through 12th grade in five schools. The Town of Queen Creek works closely with the Queen Creek Unified School District and local developers to ensure that adequate school sites are planned in conjunction with new development. Chandler-Gilbert Community College serves the Queen Creek area. It opened in 1985 and is one of the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges. It is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. CGCC features cutting-edge programs like the Information Technology Institute at the Pecos Campus, which offers certified training in Microsoft, Cisco, Novell and Oracle applications. A variety of non-credit courses are also available at the Pecos Campus, as well as the Sun Lakes Education Center. CGCC also provides lower-division academic courses for university transfer students at the Pecos Campus and in partnership with Arizona State University East for students enrolled in baccalaureate programs at Williams Campus.
